Dr. Kenneth E. Knox
After graduating from Florida State University, Dr. Knox spent three years of active duty in the Army, including one year in Viet Nam. His remaining years of active duty were with the 82nd Airborne Division. In 1977, he graduated from the Illinois College of Optometry. He then moved to Simpsonville where he expanded the city's first optometry practice from part time to full time. Dr. Knox remained in the Army Reserves and in 1990 was called to active duty during Operation Desert Storm. He later retired from military duty as a full colonel.
As an active member of his community, Dr. Knox has served as president of the Simpsonville Jaycees, Chamber of Commerce and Rotary Club. He has also served on City Council and on the boards of the YMCA, the Golden Strip Resource Center, and other organizations. He has been an active member of Simpsonville United Methodist Church for the past 30 years. Dr. Knox and his wife Sharon have two grown children and are eagerly awaiting future grandchildren.
Dr. Knox practices general optometry with an emphasis on contact lenses and infections of the eye.
